Cutting Board Care
Cleaning Your Cutting Board
DO NOT wash in a dish washer. Hand-wash only.
DO NOT submerge in water.
Cleaning your cutting board is highly recommended after every use to avoid any food-borne illness or odor
To clean your cutting board, take a clean sponge, cloth or paper towel, wet with warm to hot(not scolding) soapy water and give a light to moderate scrub to the entire surface of the board - top and bottom. Then, give a very quick rinse with warm water to rinse off the soap. Next, remove it from the water and place on a dry surface. Do not rinse longer than is needed to rinse the soap off and again DO NOT submerge in water.
Once on a dry surface, use a clean, dry cloth or paper towel and wipe the top and bottom of the cutting board dry. It’s very important that any stagnate or standing water be removed from the cutting board.
Stand the cutting board up on its end, long-ways on a paper towel and let stand for additional drying over night.
*Cleaning your cutting board doesn’t need to happen immediately after use; however, to prolong the life of your cutting board, it is recommended that the cleaning process be completed start to finish in a timely manner once you begin.
Reconditioning Your Cutting Board
If water is beading off the surface of you cutting board reapplying is not necessary. However, if water stops beading off your cutting board or if the wood on your cutting board start to look pale and dry, just apply a dap of the RBW&Co. cutting board finish to a clean, sponge, dry cloth or paper towel and rub in a small circular motion and repeat until the entire cutting board is covered top to bottom. Let sit for 5-7 minutes, and wipe any excess with and paper towel. Repeat the process one more time and let sit overnight to allow the finish to cure properly.
